March saw two successful tennis events held at Elstead Village Tennis Club to raise funds for the More Than a Pitch campaign, bringing pupils, parents and the wider community together.
The inaugural More House Senior Tennis Open took place on 12th March, with Nathan Wimble and Michael Weber (Year 4 parent) named joint winners, and Louise Tunbridge leading the ladies. It was a relaxed and enjoyable morning, with plenty of good tennis and conversation.
On 21st March, under a bright blue sky and glorious sunshine the inaugural More House School Junior Open Tennis & Pickleball Tournament was held. Thirty players took part, and the standard of play, along with the sportsmanship on display, was excellent.
Congratulations to the winners:
13–18 years: Lucas (MHS pupil)
Under 13s: Ozzie (Mrs Davenport’s grandson)
Under 10s: Sam (Elstead Village Tennis Club)
Together, the events raised over £3,000 in support of the More Than a Pitch fundraising campaign.
Our thanks go to parent Charlotte Laycock for organising both tournaments, and to everyone who took part and supported.
