Hiring our facilities

We are also excited to build positive partnerships within the local community and make greater use of our facilities. We are exploring ways in which some of our of amenities may be used / hired outside of school hours, for both community use and collaboration. This may include meetings and events, day or residential clubs, or sporting events.

Green goals in action

We are committed to creating a more sustainable, environmentally conscious future. We’re actively planning and implementing a range of eco-friendly initiatives that not only benefit our school community but also contribute positively to the wider environment. We are proud to be making real steps toward a greener future.

New multi-purpose teaching & learning space – opened in September 2025!

We’re excited to share that a brand-new, single-story, multi-purpose teaching and learning space opened at More House School in September 2025. This solar-powered building has been thoughtfully designed as a flexible space that can function as a large hall or be divided into two classrooms. It offers safe, easy access, abundant natural light, and is available to all year groups. The new building replaces the former St Matthews block, which was expertly demolished over the Easter break—with an impressive 98% of materials recycled.

Re-wilding
Whilst the school will develop further environmental initiatives surrounding the new 3G pitch, since 2022, we have also been involved in the Queens Green Canopy Planting scheme, planting over 1200 new trees across the estate.  Combined with a number of environmental initiatives led by the boys in a variety of clubs, and educational lessons, the green agenda across our site has never been stronger.

Supporting local biodiversity through beekeeping
Since the summer of 2024, More House has become home to a community of thriving beehives, tended by our dedicated Beekeeping Club. Not only do our hives provide a supply of delicious local honey, the bees are bringing long-lasting benefits to our school community:

  • New skills and passions in Beekeeping Club
  • Delicious, sustainable ingredients for our catering team
  • Positive impact on our local ecosystems through pollination
