At the heart of our school campus lies the purpose-built Learning Development Centre (LDC)—a dedicated hub for delivering holistic, integrated support. Here, our LDC team work together to provide targeted interventions that enable pupils to thrive. The LDC is home to a range of well-equipped spaces, thoughtfully designed to meet a variety of needs.
Therapy rooms for small-group sessions
Upstairs in the LDC is a suite of therapy rooms used for small-group sessions in Speech and Language Therapy (SALT), Literacy, Occupational Therapy (OT), Numeracy and Study Skills. Pupils in the Junior Years through to the Sixth Form access these rooms.
Bespoke Occupational Therapy rooms
Our OT rooms are large, open spaces filled with resources, activities and apparatus to support the development of both fine and gross motor skills. Pupils in Years 4 to 9 who receive Occupational Therapy as part of their timetable visit the OT rooms to work with our Occupational Therapists on their personalised development plans and targets. OT1 includes larger apparatus—such as swings, a climbing wall, scooter boards, balance equipment and more—designed to enhance sensory processing, gross motor skills and coordination, while OT2 is equipped with specialist tools and materials to support gross and fine motor skills.
The Therapeutic Garden
New to More House School in 2025, this inclusive and calming space supports pupils in developing mindfulness, self-regulation and executive functioning skills. Pupils collaborate with our Occupational Therapists and the grounds team to help maintain the garden, building independence, resilience and confidence through purposeful activity.
Every corner of the LDC is designed to help pupils develop essential life skills in an environment that feels safe, supportive and empowering.
