Year 7 are buzzing about their free books…
Over the next three weeks every pupil in year 7 will be taking part in Bookbuzz, a nationwide literacy initiative where every pupil gets a free book to take home to keep. It’s amazing how a freebie can create excitement even amongst the most reluctant of readers.
During library and English lessons, the pupils will watch a short video where each author has 30 seconds to describe their book. There are 16 books to choose from with a range of reading levels available. Taster books are also on display in the library. Books will be ordered by 17th October and pupils will receive their own copies to take home next half-term, a perfect free gift for the Christmas holidays ahead.
