More House School (Frensham) brought the house down with its 2026 performing arts production of Lionel Bart’s Oliver! (Book Music and lyrics by Lionel Bart, freely adapted from ‘Oliver Twist’ by Charles Dickens). The show was performed in the school’s Drama Centre from 11–13th February, featuring a predominantly neurodiverse cast of More House students, joined by performers from several other local schools.
With live singing, dynamic acting, and a full band performing the iconic score, the production impressed audiences throughout its three‑night run. Viewers praised standout performances from Fagin, Nancy and Oliver, while celebrating the commitment and passion shown by every student on stage.

The audience’s reactions were glowing:
“Wow, wow, wow! What an incredible production! Brilliantly entertaining from start to finish and my goodness, did the talent at More House shine this week.”
“I cant stop thinking about last night’s show. I feel as though I’m still watching it. It really was special.”
“The cast and crew did an amazing job – and the music throughout was superb. I’ve seen Oliver at quite a few schools now, and I’m very proud to say MH was up there with the best – thank you for a wonderful show!”
“You could visibly see the pride, joy and excitement all the boys (and girls) felt in being part of this outstanding show.”
“What a performance. Clearly some stand outs with Fagin and Nancy and young Oliver – so impressive. Not a dry eye when Nancy did her solos! But every member of the team played their role so well. It really was a wonderful night.”
“It was AMAZING! The whole cast and crew should justifiably be very proud of their efforts. Mr Aldred and Co have pulled off an absolute gem of a show.”
Oliver! struck a powerful chord within our school and with our audiences. A boy born into hardship rises above adversity through his own determination and the kindness of others. It’s a story we see every day in our classrooms, as we help shape and empower our pupils’ futures. Bringing this tale to the stage was a joy for everyone involved – made possible by the remarkable talent and dedication of our cast, musicians and crew.
Mr Aldred (Head of Drama)
The whole More House community is enormously proud of all the brave and talented pupils that got involved and gave it their all.
Huge thanks also to all the families, friends and pupils who came to watch the production and show their support.
What a triumph!
