The first honey harvest of the year

On 21st May, Mr Aldred and some of the beekeeping team took on the first honey harvest of the year.

Together they inspected the hives, removed the supers, uncapped them, spun the honey and then jarred the liquid gold!

This year there was an amazing 95lbs of honey from the first harvest!

Simon John, our amazing Catering Manager, came down to collect the first jar for the school’s refectory.

The beekeeping team were out selling the honey at Sports Day today to support fundraising for the Rockbeth trip to Ed Fringe 2026! We’ll find out how they got on next half-term.
