We were delighted to welcome our Junior Years grandparents and carers to More House in February for a special morning in school, celebrating the bond between families and our community.
The event began with an address from Headmaster Jonathan Hetherington, who spoke about the school’s purpose, values and teaching approach. Many visitors commented on how this highlighted our commitment to nurturing individual strengths, building confidence and enabling every boy to thrive. Our Head Boy, Reno, also spoke with honesty and pride, giving a powerful insight into pupil leadership and life at the school.
Grandparents also heard about our More Than a Pitch campaign and the exciting plans for new sports facilities, including the 3G pitch and sports pavilion, which will further enhance opportunities for the boys to develop teamwork, resilience and confidence through sport.

A highlight of the morning was the pupil-led tours. Grandparents shared how wonderful it was to see the school through their grandson’s eyes — visiting classrooms, meeting staff and experiencing lessons in action. The trust and responsibility given to the boys to lead these tours was highly praised, as was their enthusiasm and pride.
Music performances added to the occasion, with piano and singing showcases reflecting the creativity and confidence of our pupils. The opportunity to talk with staff, see facilities and spend time together as families made the morning both uplifting and memorable.
Visitors spoke of the warmth of the welcome and the strong sense of community that defines More House. For many, it was a valuable opportunity to better understand the environment in which their grandson is growing in independence, resilience and aspiration.
Thank you to all the grandparents and carers who joined us, and to our staff and pupils for creating such a positive and inspiring morning.
