Chinese New Year | Year of the Horse

Our library regulars in years 4 to 8 love it when it’s Chinese New Year time, working out from the free bookmarks based on their year of birth which is their Chinese Zodiac animal. Some good revision of the 12 times table usually follows!

This year one budding year 8 has become our very own ‘origami master in residence’ and made over 80 tiny origami birds, each with their own Chinese New Year fortune underneath a wing. Pupils are also invited to make their own origami fortune teller complete with all 12 Chinese zodiac animals and an array of enlightening and sometimes quizzical fortunes inside.

Happy Chinese New Year for Tuesday 17th February.
