The Story of Eurovision
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Eurovision and to mark the upcoming final in Vienna Austria on Saturday 16th May, the library is showcasing a Eurovision display where pupils can vote (just for fun!) for their favourite act. Our book of the month explores the origins of the contest, highlights some of the wackiest acts and weirdest songs from over the years, and has all the stats of previous venues, winners, country flags and a timeline history of the show.
Your interests may be musical, costume and performance related, or maybe more on the very current geopolitical debate with 4 countries boycotting the competition this year. As the cover says, ‘dive into the glitzy, glamorous and gobsmacking world of Europe’s greatest music show’.
