Hair, Jewellery and Piercings

Hair and jewellery

Pupils are not permitted to wear finger-rings or other visible jewellery, and pupils’ hair may not be coloured.  Pupils with long hair must carry with them a hair-band to enable them to tie their hair-back when requested; for example, when during a practical activity.

Piercings

Please be aware that no pupil is permitted to wear a piercing of any kind while at school. This includes ear-piercings.  If a piercing is worn, its removal will be requested immediately by the staff member challenging the incorrect uniform.

If a pupil is unable to remove the said item, he will be supported by a staff member in a separate location to that of his peers until the issue is resolved.  The wearing of transparent 'spacers' in place of a metal or coloured piercing is also not permitted, for any reason.
