Sixth Form Exam Results 2024

Thursday, 15th August 2024 marked a huge milestone for A-Level and BTEC students as they opened their results after years of learning, months of revision and weeks of public examinations.

Congratulations to every pupil on their hard work and commitment to their learning and outstanding achievements.

Every More House candidate has overcome the challenges of Dyslexia, Developmental Language Disorder or associated special educational needs on their journey through education. 71% of this year’s Upper Sixth leavers hold an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) and have defied any assumptions, achieving extraordinary outcomes in their A-Level and equivalent Level 3 BTEC qualifications.

This year, 94% of More House’s A-Level and equivalent Level 3 BTEC grades were passes, with 52% at C/Merit grade or higher. 10.6% of A-Level and equivalent Level 3 BTEC certificates were awarded at grades of A* - A, or Distinction* - Distinction. What an incredible achievement for a cohort of students who have each faced significant learning challenges.

To mark the occasion, the Headmaster invited Year 13 and Year 14 pupils to return to school with their families for a celebration with a selection of teaching, therapeutic and support staff. This was a truly heart-warming experience and a joy to see the boys congratulate each other on their achievements and share in the excitement for what lies ahead.

71% of leavers applied to university. 93% of applicants placed and over 70% achieved their first choice of university and will study courses as varied as, Acoustical and Audio Engineering, Business Management, Computer Science, Countryside Management, Engineering and Technology, History and Politics, Humanities, Music Production, Politics and International Relations and Sports Performance and Coaching.

Some pupils chose to pursue other routes after leaving More House including employment, other further / higher education programmes and exploring other training opportunities.

Mr Hetherington, Headmaster, congratulates students on their tenacity in the face of challenge and praises our school’s teaching and therapeutic staff, explaining that “high aspiration for curriculum and progress, and expert classroom teaching” are essential for the success of our pupils. After all, “empowering our pupils to be courageous and to transform their futures is at the core of our school mission”.

We wish our leavers the very best of luck with their next steps and hope that many choose to stay in touch through our Alumni Association!
