Information Session for Years 4-9

We welcomed over 150 prospective parents to our morning Information Session for Years 4 to 9.

The Headmaster, Mr Hetherington, opened the event with his insight into our mission and ethos, followed by Mrs Davenport (Director of Assessment & Therapy) and Ms Rositano (Deputy Head - Residential) introducing our therapeutic and boarding provisions.

Our Head of Junior School, Mrs Turner, then spoke about how pupils in the Junior Years are truly treated as individual learners, exploring education to find their strengths and personal learning styles. This is such an important aspect of our Junior Years provision as it helps encourage the boys to become independent learners who are proud of their achievements, empowering them to transition through More House and beyond.

The heads talk is amazing - he was literally talking about our son and his warmth, compassion, humour, passion and experience were wonderful - we are sold!

Information Session for Sixth Form

In the afternoon, we were joined by parents and boys considering joining our Sixth Form provision.

Mr Hetherington opened with an overview of our Sixth Form programme. The Head Boy and Deputies then spoke eloquently about their personal experiences, including the impact More House has had on their journey and how the school community has helped empower them to approach their futures with confidence.

 

 

Throughout the day, a fleet of eager More House boys were waiting in the wings, ready to lead guided tours of the facilities and classrooms. During these tours, our visitors had the opportunity to ask specific questions and understand more about life at More House.

I just wanted to say all the boys we met were just brilliant. Polite, interested, honest and informative. You should be proud of them. They did a great job.

Open Days are a fantastic opportunity for prospective boys and their families to get to know our school and see first-hand how we strive to empower our pupils with specific learning and language-realted difficulties to transform their futures through aspirational education.
