End of Term Information
Dates and Timings
Tuesday, 11th December
This is the day of the school Christmas lunch. It is also our Christmas Jumper day, about which a letter was sent home electronically, recently. Pupils are asked to wear their normal school uniform, but to replace their school jumper with a festive Christmas jumper. All participants are asked to contribute a minimum donation of £2, to be handed to their form-tutor on Tuesday morning. Funds raised will be donated to the charity Naomi House, and prizes will be awarded in different age-groups for the best jumpers.
Friday, 14th December – last morning of term
The school day begins at the normal time of 8.30am, and pupils up to and including Year Eleven should be dressed in smart school uniform, with their shoes polished. Sixth Form students should be dressed equally formally, in a lounge suit and tie. Teaching and learning activities will continue as normal until a little before 11am.
The Christmas Service will commence in the Sports Hall at 11.30am. Parents and visitors are invited to arrive in advance of this time and are encouraged to leave ample time for parking and for finding a seat in the hall. Car-parking will be available from 10.30am and members of the school’s staff will be on hand to help you to find a parking space. Please expect the site to be extremely busy, and I am grateful for your patience and understanding.
The service is expected to conclude soon after 12.15pm, when the success of last year’s outdoor Christmas food-market will be repeated. There will be a coach to Farnham railway station for any boys who normally use the coach but who are not being met by their parents at school after the carol-service, and for any boarders requiring the transport. This coach will leave from the car-park outside Main Reception at 12.30pm.
School closes at lunchtime on Friday, and all boys are considered to be under the supervision and responsibility of their parents from 12.30pm. Please make sure all school bags, coats and P.E. bags, if not already collected, are taken home after the service.
Lost Property:
On Friday, all boys’ lost property will be displayed near to the terrace behind Main House. Parents are strongly encouraged to visit the collection and claim found items.
Half-termly Progress Monitoring grades:
Your son’s half-termly progress monitoring grades will be released on Friday, 14th December and available for you to view using your Parent Portal access as usual. You will receive an email informing you once they are available.
