The Bradbury Music School possesses excellent facilities including: a chamber concert hall with a Boston Steinway grand piano and an increasing stock of orchestral percussion, a studio, a well-equipped classroom with the latest keyboards, various practice rooms and a music ICT suite. The school chapel has recently been furnished with a Wyvern Pastorale chamber organ, of which we are very proud.

Key Stage 3 courses develop each boy’s competence in the three main aptitudes in music: composition, performance and listening. This is achieved in a fun and vibrant way though studying various topics such as Folk Music, Guitar Skills, Samba, Steel Drumming and Opera, to name but a few.

Music is offered at GCSE with the option of focussing on Music Technology as a performance and we are pleased to offer both Music ‘A’ Level as well as a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Music.

In addition to the curriculum, the Bradbury Music School offers individual music lessons for boys in all standard classical and jazz instruments. We also offer lessons on acoustic and electric guitar, drum kit, contemporary vocals, the bagpipes, and in music technology. Boys are encouraged to work towards and take grades on their instruments; we regularly host the ABRSM exams in the department. Our latest peripatetic music lesson brochure can be downloaded here: More House Music Brochure
